Housing Fair 2025 Oulu: Valotehdas lighting in three show homes

Housing Fair 2025 Oulu will be held in Hartaanselänranta from July 18 to August 17, 2025. The nature-friendly and ecologically designed exhibition area serves as a stage for modern construction – and lighting plays a central role this year. Valotehdas is involved in lighting design and implementation in no less than three magnificent fair properties: Hietasaaren Gård houses A, C, and D. Explore Hietasaaren Gård houses on Instagram.

The Role of Lighting in Architecture – Valotehdas at the Fair Properties

Valotehdas's high-quality LED lighting solutions support the clear lines and materials of the architecture. All luminaires used in house D are implemented with a 4000K color temperature, which brings out the natural colors and textures of the spaces. The main materials used are brushed steel and anodized aluminum, which blend seamlessly with wood-toned surfaces.

Products used in house D include:

Atmospheric and Smart LED Lighting

All properties utilize indirect and dot-free LED lighting. The lighting combines:

  • dimmability, which allows for creating different atmospheres at different times of the day

  • high color rendering (CRI >90), which naturally highlights materials and shades

  • dot-free COB technology, ensuring a clean and even light surface without distracting light points

  • stylish finish and minimalist design, which blends into the interior architecture of the property

Example: Hietasaaren Gård house D

House D is a subtly modern wooden house that relies on natural materials. Its interiors are characterized by natural stone surfaces, wood paneling, and carefully considered atmospheric lighting.

Lighting solutions by space:

  • Living room and kitchen: Enola B spotlights on tracks highlight architecture and art, with long indirect lighting in the living room emphasizing the edge of the slatted ceiling.

  • Bathroom: moisture-protected COB strips (IP65), indirectly embedded in wall benches and recesses. LAATTA-UPPO12 profile used vertically in the soap recess to create ambiance.

  • Staircase: dot-free COB LED strip in handrails provides light to the beautiful staircase

  • Toilets and lobbies: LED light strips provide general lighting and highlight stone surfaces.

  • Kitchen recess: LED profile and 15W COB strip provide high-quality and even countertop lighting.

In Collaboration with Other Top Operators

Valotehdas has carried out the lighting design in cooperation with the builders, and other materials used in the houses, such as Laattapiste's tiles and Nixi kitchens, complete the impressive interior. This way, the lighting of the spaces serves not only aesthetics but also the functionality of the materials – the lights emphasize details, facilitate everyday use, and create a warm, Nordic home atmosphere.
